Vol.4 “NEW DAWN — A Rooftop Night of Live Painting & DJ Music”

At noon, the DJ’s music began to fill the rooftop.
With the open sky and ocean stretching across the horizon of Jimbaran, guests gradually began to gather.

Hotel guests,
as well as visitors from outside the hotel, joined us for the occasion.

For one special day, the usually tranquil rooftop pool was transformed into a vibrant space where art, music, food, and people came together.

At 4:00 PM, Daisuke Ishizuka stepped in front of the canvas.

This time, the creative process took place in a completely different atmosphere from the live painting sessions in the lobby — surrounded by music and beneath the open Bali sky.

The rhythm of the DJ’s beats accompanied the movement of the brush across the canvas.
As the afternoon sun slowly began to descend, the artwork continued to evolve.

Guests watched the painting unfold from up close, drinks in hand, taking in the atmosphere as the artist brought the canvas to life.

The rooftop also featured a selection of food from across the hotel.

Angelique Café served takoyaki.
Imadoki Restaurant offered tonkotsu ramen, edamame, and matcha pudding.
And Splash Rooftop Bar presented the full W Senses food menu along with a selection of drinks.

Guests could admire the artwork, enjoy the music, and share a meal while watching the Bali sunset unfold around them.

It was a completely different kind of hotel experience — something between a relaxed evening at a restaurant and a night out in Bali, created especially for this one unforgettable evening.

One of the most memorable aspects of the evening was the way conversations naturally began between guests.

People who had never met before found themselves talking while watching Ishizuka create his artwork.

Different nationalities and languages came together, sharing the same space and focusing on the same evolving canvas.

Perhaps that is one of the quiet powers of art and music — the ability to soften the boundaries between people and create a sense of connection without the need for words.

At 8:00 PM, Ishizuka completed his live painting.

The completed artwork emerged beneath the rooftop lights, revealing the final form of a piece that had been created before the eyes of the guests.

The DJ continued playing until 9:00 PM. As the final guests slowly made their way from the rooftop, the night of NEW DAWN quietly came to an end.

NEW DAWN began on July 15 with the very first brushstroke in the hotel lobby.

Through live painting, we invited guests to witness the moment an artwork was “born.”

Through the exhibition, we invited them to encounter the completed works and discover the worlds within them.

Through the painting classes, guests picked up their own brushes and created artworks of their own.

And through the rooftop party, art, music, and food came together to create an evening where people could connect and share the moment.

Looking back, NEW DAWN was more than simply an art event. It was an attempt to create “new moments” within the hotel — moments that guests might not have expected when they arrived.

The moment someone stopped to look at the artwork while checking in.
The moment a guest encountered a painting in the restaurant.
The moment a child placed their first stroke of color onto a blank canvas.
The moment the sunset, music, and art came together on the rooftop.

Each of these small moments added a new layer of meaning to the time our guests spent at Watermark Hotel & Spa Bali.

NEW DAWN was the first art event of its kind for Watermark Hotel & Spa Bali.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Daisuke Ishizuka, to every guest who joined us, and to everyone who contributed their time, creativity, and support to bringing this project to life.

Although NEW DAWN has come to an end, the artworks and memories created throughout the project will remain.

Inspired by everything we experienced through this project, Watermark Hotel & Spa Bali will continue to create and share new “experiences” with our guests.
