These guidelines form part of the terms and conditions for the use of the sauna, cold plunge, relaxation areas, and related facilities at Watermark Hotel & Spa Bali.

All guests using our facilities are deemed to have agreed to and shall comply with these guidelines.

These standards are designed to maintain a safe, hygienic, and comfortable shared space for all guests.

1. Health and Safety Regulations

  • All guests must shower before using the pool or cold plunge.
  • Diving or jumping into the pool or cold plunge is strictly prohibited for safety reasons.
  • Guests who are feeling unwell, suspect an infectious condition, or have open wounds should refrain from using the facilities. In addition, the following guests are advised not to use the facilities:
    • Those who have been advised by a doctor not to bathe or use a sauna.
    • Those with a suspected contagious or infectious disease.
    • Those with heart conditions, respiratory illnesses, or other health conditions unsuitable for sauna use.
    • Those with a fever, feeling unwell, or who are pregnant.
    • Those who are under the influence of alcohol or intoxicated.
    • Those whose behavior may cause disturbance to other guests.
  • Please place a towel on furniture before use.
  • Appropriate swimwear or sauna-suitable attire is required at all times.
  • We recommend staying well hydrated after using the sauna.
  • If you experience dizziness, nausea, or excessive sweating, stop using the facilities immediately. The hotel assumes no liability for accidents, injuries, or health issues occurring within the facility. In the event of an emergency, please contact a staff member immediately.

2. Facility Usage Rules (Main Pool, Sauna & Cold Plunge)

  • Adding water, oils, fragrances, or any substances to the heater or sauna stones is prohibited (unless supervised by staff).
  • Bringing personal items such as vihta (birch whisks), fans, leaves, or herbs into the sauna is prohibited (unless supervised by staff).
  • Please follow all staff instructions when using the facilities.
  • Please dry off before entering the sauna. After your session, wipe down any moisture inside the sauna so the next guest can enjoy a comfortable experience.
  • Pouring water on the sauna stones (Löyly) produces a sudden burst of steam. Please be careful to avoid burns.
  • When pouring water on the sauna stones (Löyly), please limit to 1–2 ladles at a time. Pouring too much water at once may cause water to reach the electric stove without evaporating, resulting in equipment damage. In the event of a malfunction caused by excessive water, guests will be held responsible for repair costs as well as compensation for business losses during downtime.
  • Personal glassware is not permitted in the facility.
  • Food, beverages, glasses, and drinks are not permitted inside the sauna room.
  • During peak times, please be considerate and avoid extended use of the facilities.
  • Guests may be charged for any damage to facilities or equipment caused by misuse, negligence, or violation of these rules.
  • Please remove all jewelry and accessories before using the sauna, as metal items may cause burns.
  • Smartphones and electronic devices are not permitted inside the sauna. The hotel assumes no responsibility for damage to devices brought into the sauna.
  • Staff may enter the sauna room at any time.

3. Conduct and Etiquette

  • This facility is a relaxation-focused environment.
  • Loud noise, disruptive behavior, violence, or inappropriate conduct is prohibited and may result in removal from the premises.
  • Photographing or filming other guests or staff, and posting on social media without explicit consent, is strictly prohibited.
  • Phone calls are not permitted in the sauna, cold plunge, or other bathing areas.
  • Professional photography equipment, video equipment, or drones may not be used without prior written approval from the hotel.

4. Food, Beverages, Alcohol & Prohibited Substances

  • The facility is entirely non-smoking (including e-cigarettes and vapes). Please use the designated smoking area.
  • Outside food and beverages are not permitted within the facility.
  • Alcohol consumption inside the sauna is prohibited.
  • Guests under the influence of alcohol or any substance that may impair judgment, coordination, or physical ability are not permitted to use the sauna, steam bath, cold plunge, or any other bathing facilities.
  • Bringing oils, fragrances, herbal teas, or chemical substances into the sauna or applying them to heated surfaces is prohibited.

5. Age Restrictions and Conditions of Use

  • The sauna is available to guests aged 13 and above.
  • Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Pets are not permitted in the facility.

6. Valuables and Liability

  • Guests are responsible for the safekeeping of their personal belongings.
  • The hotel is not liable for any loss, theft, or misplaced items.

7. Food and Beverage Regulations

  • Eating and drinking in the main pool, sauna, and cold plunge is prohibited.
  • Please inform staff in advance of any allergies or dietary restrictions.
  • The hotel is not liable for allergic reactions or related incidents if allergies or dietary restrictions were not disclosed in advance.
  • Refunds cannot be provided for food and beverages once prepared.

8. Enforcement and Access Restrictions

To maintain a safe, respectful, and well-managed environment, the hotel reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:

  • Refuse entry
  • Remove guests from the facility
  • Restrict access for serious or repeated rule violations
  • No refunds will be issued in the event of removal.

All such decisions are made at the hotel’s discretion and are final.

9. Social Media and Photography Policy

Photos or other media taken at our facility may be featured on the hotel’s official website and social media channels (X, Instagram, Facebook, etc.). By using the facility, guests acknowledge and accept this policy.

10. Changes to These Guidelines

The hotel reserves the right to amend or update these guidelines at any time without prior notice. Updated guidelines will be posted within the facility or on the website. Continued use of the facility after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised guidelines.

11. Acceptance of Guidelines

By entering the hotel’s facilities, guests acknowledge and agree to comply with all guidelines and policies set forth above.

Is parking available?
Please use the parking area at the hotel entrance.
Where can I store my belongings?
Large luggage can be stored at the front desk. For smaller items such as wallets and valuables, please use the lockers located next to the Main Pool.
Is there a place to change?
The shower room next to the lobby is available for changing.
What are the sauna operating hours?
The sauna is open daily from Coming Early May 2026.
Is a reservation required?
No reservation is required — walk-ins are welcome. If you are concerned about availability, feel free to contact us in advance via WhatsApp.
Is the sauna complimentary for hotel guests?
Yes, all hotel guests enjoy complimentary access to the sauna and wellness facilities. Please note that the Suite Lounge is exclusively available to guests staying in a suite room. For non-staying visitors, admission fees apply — please refer to the pricing table above and select your preferred package.
How do I use the sauna properly?

A standard session lasts approximately 3 hours. We recommend repeating the following cycle three times:

· Sauna: 5–10 minutes
· Cold plunge: 1–3 minutes
· Rest: 30 minutes

Can I use the sauna if I have a health condition?
We kindly ask the following guests to refrain from using the sauna: those advised by a doctor to avoid saunas or bathing, those with a fever, feeling unwell, or who are pregnant, those with heart conditions or respiratory illnesses, those under the influence of alcohol, and those with infectious conditions or open wounds. If you are unsure, please consult your physician before visiting.
Is there anything I should do before entering the sauna?
Please shower before using the sauna. Make sure to dry your body thoroughly before entering the sauna room. Remove all jewelry and accessories, as they may cause burns in the heat.
Is swimwear required?
Yes. As our facilities are shared spaces, appropriate swimwear or spa attire is required at all times. Nudity is not permitted.
Can children use the sauna?
The sauna is available to guests aged 13 and above. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
Can I pour water on the sauna stones (löyly)?
Yes, you may. However, please use only 1–2 ladles of water at a time. Pouring excessive water can damage the electric heater, and guests may be held responsible for any repair costs or losses incurred as a result.
Can I bring food or drinks into the sauna room?
Food, drinks, and glassware are not permitted inside the sauna room. We recommend staying hydrated after your session — beverages are available in the relaxation area.
Can I bring my smartphone or electronic devices?
Smartphones and electronic devices are not permitted inside the sauna room. The hotel is not responsible for any damage caused to personal devices. Phone calls are also prohibited within the sauna and cold plunge areas.
Can I bring essential oils or a vihta (birch whisk)?
Personal items such as oils, fragrances, herbs, vihtas, and fans are not permitted. Only services and products provided under staff supervision are allowed.
Is photography and social media posting allowed?
Photography of other guests or staff, and posting to social media without explicit consent, is strictly prohibited. The use of professional camera equipment or drones requires prior written approval from the hotel. Please note that the hotel may feature guest photos on its official website and social media channels.
What should I do if I feel unwell during my sauna session?
If you experience dizziness, nausea, or excessive sweating, please stop your session immediately and notify a staff member. The hotel is not liable for illness or accidents that occur within the facility.
Can I dine at the restaurant?
Yes, our restaurant is open to all guests. We recommend contacting the restaurant in advance to check availability and make a reservation.
Are hair dryers available?
Hair dryers are available on a complimentary loan basis at the front desk. Please ask a member of our front desk team when needed.
What happens if I violate the facility rules?
Serious or repeated violations of our facility rules may result in removal from the premises or a restriction on future access. No refunds will be issued in the event of removal. Guests may also be held liable for any damage caused to the facility or equipment. We kindly ask all guests to respect our guidelines.
